Starting from the invention of JAMB (CAPS) in 2017 by the present JAMB Registrar (Prof Isiaq Oloyede) applicant(Jambite) find it difficult to access JAMB (CAPS) since the portal is now active that is the sole reason why Schoolsmint Team decided come up with easy solution to oblige candidate.

WHAT IS JAMB CAPS?

The JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) is an admission processing system that is geared towards ensuring quality control, transparency and credibility of the admission process.

The Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) is expected to make provision for a ‘market place’ in the JAMB PORTAL where institutions can go and ‘request for students in Nigeria who score their cut off points.

The system is such that institutions can only admit those who meet their cut off points. If a candidate fails to meet the cut off mark, that student would certainly be denied admission irrespective of the candidate’s connection. 
Some didn't know the difference between jamb caps admission status and school admission status,there is big difference between the two,jamb caps admission status is seen on jamb caps portal whereas school admission status is shown to you  o n school portal after that you have accepted your on jamb caps when you access your caps.

HOW TO CHECK ADMISSION STATUS ON JAMB CAPS

You can check your admission status on JAMB CAPS portal by following the simple steps outlined below.

  Visit JAMB portal at http://www.jamb.gov.ng/efacility/. (A laptop or desktop computer or Chrome browser is recommended for you to have full access to the web page.)

1. Login with your Email and Password.
2. Then locate and click on Check Admission Status.
   
   
   
   
   
3. Select you examination year, supply your JAMB registration number in the required column and then click on ‘Access my CAPS‘ button.
   
   
   
   
   
4. If the page only shows Welcome, do not worry. Just click on the options icon on your phone’s browser (located at the top right corner of the screen on Google Chrome) and change the view of the page from Mobile View to Desktop View.
   
   
   
   
   
5. Click on Admission Status on the left panel.
6. After your details have been successfully loaded, check if you have been given admission.
7. If you have been given admission, you will notice that the Accept Admission and Reject Admission buttons will be active. If not, the buttons will appear faint. You can now accept or reject your admission offer under your Admission Profile by clicking on the corresponding button.

NOTE: If you are using a phone, you may not see the option to check your Admission Status on JAMB CAPS. Most phone users may only see the welcome message. The caps page shows only welcome because it requires you to use desktop mode to view the complete page. This is why the chrome browser is recommended if you are a using a phone. All you need to do is go to Chrome option and choose request desktop site for the complete page to display as explained in the steps above.

NB: If you have been offered admission the Accept Admission and Reject Admission buttons will be active as shown in the image below.

If you have not been offered admission the Accept Admission and Reject Admission buttons will not be clickable as shown in the image below.

HOW TO CHECK ADMISSION STATUS ON JAMB CAPS USING MOBILE PHONE

Before you try to login to JAMB CAPS portal, note the following

• You should only use advanced browsers like Google chrome/Firefox (do not use Opera mini)
• The admission status tab will not be visible at the left bar of the browser when you login with mobile phone.

You need to switch your mobile browser to desktop mode because JAMB CAPS portal is designed for desktop

To switch to desktop mode, follow the steps below:

• Click on the Menu icon from your browser (the 3 dashes usually at the top right/left corner of your browser)
• From the list of Menu, you will see “Switch to desktop” with a unmarked box beside it
• Click on it to mark the box and switch to desktop mode
• The JAMB CAPS page will reload and you will see the admission status tab on the side bar now
• Click on it to check the JAMB CAPS admissions status page
• Now, you can view your JAMB admission status and JAMB CAPS profile by clicking on “Check admission status” beside the box containing your registration number

NOTE: If you find yourself logged out of JAMB CAPS portal anytime you switch to desktop mode on the welcome page, then you should switch to desktop mode before you login at all.

Finally, I will quickly show you how to check your JAMB CAPS admission status on any small phone/smart phone using opera mini.

1. When you get to the welcome page, click on the URL in the address bar.
2. Check the URL address properly and look for default.aspx
3. Clear the default and change it to candidateadmission
4. Hence, you will have default.aspx replaced by candidateadmission.aspx
5. Click on the Enter button and the page will reload with your admission status displayed
6. Click on the check admission status beside your registration number to check your admission status.

HOW TO ACCEPT AND REJECT ADMISSION ON JAMB CAPS

Note: If you are using a phone, you may not see the option to check your Admission Status on CAPS. Most phone users may only see the welcome message. The caps page shows only welcome because it requires you to use desktop mode to view the complete page. This is why the chrome browser is recommended if you are a using a phone. All you need to do is go to Chrome option and choose request desktop site for the complete page to display as explained below:

1.       Go to JAMB E-facility portal at http://www.jamb.gov.ng/efacility/.

2.       Supply your Email Address and Password in the required columns and then login.

3.       Then locate and click on ‘Check Admission Status‘.

4.       Select you examination year, supply your JAMB registration number in the required column and then click on ‘Access my CAPS‘ button.

5.       You will be welcomed with a white screen like this: (you can click on the image for better view)

6.       Select the three doted line at the top right-corner of your browser ( i.e. ⋮) and then tick ‘Desktop site‘. (you can click on the image for better view)

7.       Select ‘Admission Status‘ on the left panel.

8.       Locate and click on the ‘Search‘ button in front of your JAMB Registration Number to load your profile.

9.       You can now accept/reject your admission offer under ‘Admission Profile’.

NB: Acceptance/rejection of admission offer is free!

Candidates who have been offered admission on JAMB CAPS are to equally print their admission letter after accepting the admission, as they will likely need this during clearance and registration in the school that they have been admitted.

How to Check   JAMB CAPS in Operamini       

As we all know operamini is not an advance browser like chrome or firefox so for the sake of operamini uers we schoolsmint team come up with a solution to access jamb caps with operamini.

For you to acces JAMB CAPS on operamini follow these simple steps:

              1. Go to JAMB E-facility portal at http://www.jamb.gov.ng/efacility/ on  your                  operaminibrowser.

              2. Click On The Operamini Logo that looks like circle in the left panel.

             3. Scroll Down and click on setting

            4. Click on Advanced

           5. Click On User Agent

        6.Select Desktop and you are good to have full access to jamb caps using operamini

What Is Jamb Market Place

Jamb caps marketplace is where you are been made marketable by Jamb. Jamb advertises your Score to Various institutions. The schools now decide whether to admit you are not. This now results in you gaining admission into a school you didn’t apply.

Most time, Jamb Market place is as a result of you not meeting the requirements of the school you applied to (Low Jamb and Post Utme Score). So long admission is still in progress, there is a high chance that you will gain admission.

What If I Mistakenly Accept Admission? I Mistakenly Click Accept Admission In My Caps Portal? If you mistakenly accepted admission when you have not been offered admission by any school yet then it’s no issue. However, your admission is gone if you reject it.
